Summer thrills
Cortina’s fabulous mountain valley is a beautiful place for summer holidays, surrounded by woods and clearings where you can escape from the sultry weather, enjoy the fresh air and devote yourself to “active rest”. Walks, excursions on foot or on mountain bike, rock climbing, free climbing, horse riding, tennis and all the latest specialisations for thrills on the waterways ... the perfect way to recover the stillness, well-being and deep joy that this unique place provides. To enjoy yourself without any worries about organisation, contact the Cristallo Hotel Spa & Golf’s concierge, who will be pleased to organise any activity for you, according to your needs.
Mountaineering
Surrounded by such legendary peaks, enthusiasts of Cortina’s mountaineering history cannot miss out on the first and second grade Antelao and Sorapiss, or the classic fourth and sixth grade Tofane routes. Climbs should be coordinated with the Mountain Guide.
Fixed-aid climbing routes
Scaling a fixed-aid climbing route is one of the deepest desires and pleasures for experienced mountaineers. The Dolomites cannot be equalled for the number and beauty of their equipped routes, to be climbed in safety, with special equipment and experience and knowledge of the mountain. Before the climb, it is always good to consult the managers of the mountain refuges or the guides and the www.Dolomiti.org website, which publishes a wide selection of the most beautiful fixed-aid climbing routes in the Monti Pallidi, with technical and logistic data.
Canyoning, canoeing, kayaking and hydro-speed
The Dolomites are a land where water is plentiful, with lakes, torrents and streams that irrigate the rocks and grassy expanses.
Whether you’re descending through waterways on foot, using a double rope, with the canyoning method, or shooting along the Boite torrent on a floating hydro-speed board, you’ll sample the pleasure of an extraordinary adventure with speed, action and thrills.
Mountain Biking
On two wheels beneath the peaks: Cortina has a wide choice of fascinating routes for bikers of every level. You just need to remember to respect the no entry signs on routes exclusively for walking trips.
There are 15 routes designed and signposted for mountain-bikes in the Ampezzo Valley, with the possibility of crossing from Veneto to Trentino Alto Adige along the route of the historical “Trenino delle Dolomiti”.
Trekking & Nordic Walking
There are hundreds of paths, so close to the most beautiful peaks that you could almost reach out and touch them, and numerous excursions: from easy and short strolls to more challenging hikes. An extraordinary experience, included among the themed itineraries, is to walk along the paths of the First World War, where you will find trenches, tunnels, passageways and blockhouses restored to commemorate the wartime epic in the Valley of Ampezzo.
Adrenalin Park
A thrilling experience from 4 to 15 metres in the air, that guarantees enjoyment for all the family. An adventure trail is suspended between trees, with lianas and Tibetan bridges, in a beautiful larch forest, with 39 platforms distributed over an area of 3,000m² and a similar number of aerial crossings, providing a succession of games, thrills and excitement. The courses, designed with different levels of difficulty and length, are suitable for everyone.
